A Dash to Medieval Bruges and its Famous Christmas Markets
With its network of canals Bruges is known as the Venice of the north, making Bruges a popular place to visit all year round. The festive season in Bruges includes Belgium's oldest Christmas Markets and Ice Rink.
The Christmas stalls can be found on both the Market Square and on Simon Stevinplein by the Ice Rink.
As well as the he cosy Christmas atmosphere there's the horse drawn carriages, a multitude of shops selling fine Belgian chocolates, coffee shops, bars and restaurants.
A visit to Bruges wouldn't be complete without a guided boat tour or a horse drawn carriage around this beautiful Medieval city.

THIS TOUR HAS BEEN CANCELLED
In light of what’s happening in the world at the moment, we have to monitor the risks of travelling abroad, especially travelling to Belgium which.
Bruges Christmas Markets is a possible target being both a religious festival and a gathering of foreign nationals.
The UK Foreign Office current warning for Belgium is "Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Belgium" https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/belgium/safety-and-security This is such a severe warning that we simply cannot dismiss.
As we run up to Christmas the threat is only likely to increase. With the threat level as it is, we feel we have no other option but to cancel this year’s Bruges Christmas Market programme.
While we know this is disappointing, we hope you understand that ultimately your safety will always be paramount.
Customers that have purchased discount codes, please contact Wowcher for a full refund.

Depart your chosen pick up point and travel to the port of Dover where we have a short break before boarding our Ferry/Eurotunnel to France. After a 90 minute drive from Calais/Dunkirk we arrive in Bruges where the rest of the day you're free to explore the Christmas markets, shops, bars & restaurants.
If donning a pair of ice skates isn't your idea of fun then maybe take a tour on a horse drawn carriage or one of the many canal boats with English commentary.
The sights, sounds and smells of upto 100 market stalls should keep you busy until 5.30pm when it's time to make your way back to the coach park and say goodbye to Bruges as we drive back to the channel port and back to Blighty.
Arrival back in England should be approximately 21.45 before retracing your steps back to your drop off points. All times are estimated and cannot be guaranteed.
