Bruges New Year's Eve 2024

Our Adventure

• Depart from your chosen pick up point and travel to the Port of Dover, where we go through UK & French Border Force before boarding our ferry due to sail at 10:15am to France.  We arrive in Calais at 12:45 hours (local time).

• After a 75 minute drive from Calais/Dunkirk, we arrive in Bruges at approximately 2pm and you are free to explore.

• At 22:45pm make your way to t'Zand Square for the New Year's Eve celebration which is a mega-sing-along spectacle for young and old. 

• At midnight there is a speech by the mayor, followed by a laser show.

• Then further singing by a choir and audience.  Finishing araound 01:30am.

• Coaches depart Bruges around 2am before heading back to the channel port.

• Don't forget to stock up on duty free goodies on the ferry home.

• Approximate times home: UK time: Dover 04:30 last drop in London by approximately 07:00 hours.  (All times are estimated and cannot be guaranteed).

Things to do in Bruges

• Family friendly sing along to welcome in the New Year!   Led by a conductor and accompanied by a choir you can sing along to the biggest hits from recent years.  In between singing you can enjoy a drink or snack from one of the nearby stands.

• Watch the impressive light show involving drones, before the countdown to the New Year.

• Christmas Markets:  Located in Bruges central square the Grote Markt offers a traditional Christmas market experience. Shop charming Christmas gifts, enjoy delicious festive treats and embrace the wonderful Christmas atmosphere. Meanwhile the Simon Stevinplein Christmas Market specialises in artisanal crafts, is the perfect place if you're seeking unique gifts to surprise your loved ones at home! Stevinplein.

• Explore the fairytale Markt, travel to the top of the Belfry of Bruges for an amazing panorama, vsit the Basilica of the Holy Blood.

• Ice Rink:  Picture yourself gliding across the ice rink surrounded by New Year Cheer.

• Bars & Restaurants:  Savour delicious local cuisine and Belgium beers or champagne in the vibrant bars and restaurants. 

• Horse-Drawn Carriages: Take a romantic ride through the cobbled streets, feeling like you have stepped back in time.

• English Guided Boat Tour: Discover the hidden gems of Bruges from its charming canals.

• Chocolate Shops

• Festive treats such as:

  • Belgian Waffle​

  • Speculoos Biscuits - spiced cinnamon biscuits in festive shapes

  • Artisan cheese stalls

  • Belgian hot chocolate

  • Duval or Mulled Wine
